This site features my artwork sprinkled with my collected thoughts about technolgy and culture in my blog. I’m publishing using Virb (although I’ve been known to dabble in ExpressionEngine, Tumblr, Cargo Collective, Squarespace, Projeqt, WordPress and straight-up HTML5/CSS3).
I use a variety of desktop software but most notalbe are:
TextMate 2, Transmit, FontExplorer X, 1Password, Rdio, Osfoora (Twitter Client), Dropbox, CloudApp, and the Adobe Creative Suite.
I’m primarily a pen and ink artist with spot watercolors. I do use acrylic white for highlights but I try to keep it simple. I use HB lead to gesture draw my subject matter and prefer a ,005–.35mm Micron pen to render and .18–.25 rapidiograph to detail. I’ve been dabbling with Copic Markers and using gesso for surface texture.
I uses a Windsor Newton watercolor and gouache and Golden Acylics. I have two Raphael Kolinksy sable hair brushes that have lasted me forever. I also have several Winsor Newton brushes for detailing. I’ve been experimenting with Sumi and Isabey mop brushes for washes. I have a few trash brushes that I uses with acrylic to give my work surface texture.
As for surfaces I uses everything from Crescent Boards, Canson Arches and watercolor paper to 3ply bristol boards and experimenting with larger format watercolor papers.
